How to use the feasibility checker

  1. Choose the audience. Pick one of the twelve Global Vox Populi proprietary panels: consumers, B2B and IT decision-makers, physicians, key opinion leaders, nurses and allied health professionals, patients, caregivers, payers and providers, children and parents, financial professionals, foodservice professionals and chefs, or tradespeople.
  2. Target the people you need. Every breakdown is a multiple choice. Select any mix, such as women aged 23–55 in SEC A and B, cardiologists and endocrinologists, or IT directors and CIOs at enterprise companies. For patients, search 731 conditions and add as many as you need.
  3. Add markets. Search for countries, add a preset such as EU5, G7, GCC or ASEAN, add a whole region, or click countries on the map. Set a target for each market, set all of them at once, or split a total across markets equally or by panel size.
  4. Check the fieldwork assumptions. Response rate, drop-out, quality removals, survey length and fieldwork days all change the answer. The defaults are typical starting points; replace them with your own.
  5. Read the results. Each market gets a status (feasible, tight, short or not covered), the invitations it needs, the maximum completes the panel can deliver and the completes per day required. The checker also shows which targeting filter limits feasibility most and what to change.
  6. Share or save. Download a branded PDF report or an Excel-ready CSV, copy a link that reopens the exact scenario, save scenarios on your device, or send the scenario straight to our team.

How feasibility is calculated

For each market, the checker starts from the number of panelists in the chosen audience. It multiplies that by the share of the panel that matches each targeting group you selected, using the breakdown for that specific country. Groups are combined by multiplication, which assumes they are independent: the share of women among people aged 23–55 is taken to be the same as the share of women overall. That is a reasonable first estimate; real overlaps can push the figure up or down.

Reachable = panelists × share matching each selected group × additional screener incidence

Invitations needed = target ÷ (response rate × incidence × (1 − drop-out) × (1 − QC removal))

Maximum completes = reachable panelists × share you are willing to invite × yield per invitation

A market is feasible when it needs no more than half of the reachable panelists, tight when it needs half to all of them, and short when it needs more than the panel holds.

What makes a study feasible?

  • Reach: how many people in the target group are on the panel in each country.
  • Incidence: the share of them who pass your screener. Every additional criterion lowers it.
  • Response: the share of those invited who start the survey. Physicians, KOLs and senior B2B audiences usually respond less than consumers.
  • Completion and quality: the share who finish and pass quality checks. Long surveys increase drop-out.
  • Time: the number of fieldwork days. The checker shows the completes per day each market must deliver.

Worked example: a seven-market cardiology study

A pharmaceutical client needs 650 cardiologists across the United States, the EU5 and Japan. About 70% of cardiologists are expected to qualify on treatment volume, the response rate is 8%, 8% drop out and 4% are removed in quality checks. The yield per invitation is about 4.9%, so 150 completes in the United States need around 3,030 invitations. Where the panel numbers come from

The checker uses Global Vox Populi's proprietary panel coverage records for twelve audiences in 198 countries, the same figures published on our panel statistics pages. Patient figures are condition profiles: a person with two conditions counts once for each. Results are indicative; send us the scenario for a confirmed feasibility, timeline and quote.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same feasibility check your team runs?

It uses the same panel coverage data and the same basic arithmetic. Our team also checks live panel activity, quotas inside each market, the exact screener wording and fieldwork timing, so a confirmed feasibility can differ.

Can I select several options in one group?

Yes. Every group is a multiple choice. Selecting several options in one group adds them together; selecting options in several groups narrows the audience.

What response rate should I use?

The default for each audience is a typical starting point. Use your own if you have recent figures for the same audience, incentive and survey length.

What if a market is short?

Relax a screening criterion, extend fieldwork, lower the target for that market, weight from a smaller base, or add telephone or partner recruitment. The checker lists the targeting filter that costs the most reach.

Is my scenario stored anywhere?

No. Calculations run in your browser. Saved scenarios are kept only on your own device, and nothing is sent to us unless you choose to email it.
